The Mission of CU Pickleball Club
The CU Pickleball Club is dedicated to promoting the sport at the University of Colorado in Boulder, offering a platform for players of all skill levels to connect, practice, and even compete. The club aims to foster an inclusive, supportive environment where students can socialize, improve their game, and participate in friendly, student-run competitions or competitive, sanctioned events off campus.
Club President and University of Colorado Senior, Grace Wattz, states "Whether you're a beginner or an experienced player, the CU Pickleball Club is committed to ensuring everyone has access to the resources and opportunities they need to enjoy pickleball and grow in the sport.
Today's Goals: Fostering a Thriving Pickleball Community at CU
The immediate goal of the CU Pickleball Club is to create a welcoming, inclusive environment where players of all skill levels can come together to practice and play. The funds raised through this GoFundMe campaign will support several important initiatives, including:
- Organizing Social Events and Friendly Competitions:
The CU Pickleball Club is working to bring students together for social gatherings, practice sessions, and friendly tournaments. These events will provide an opportunity for players of all levels to engage with the sport in a relaxed, fun environment while improving their skills.
- Purchasing High-Quality Equipment:
As the club grows, so does the need for quality pickleball equipment. Your donations will help purchase paddles, balls, and other necessary tools to ensure every player has access to the right equipment to improve their game.
- Funding Travel for Competitions:
For CU’s competitive players, traveling to local and national tournaments is key to gaining real-world experience and representing CU on a larger stage. Your contributions will help cover travel costs, ensuring that CU’s best players can compete and continue to develop their skills.
Tommorrows Goals: Establishing CU as a Force in Collegiate Pickleball
The CU Pickleball Club also has an exciting long-term vision—to become a competitive force within the National Collegiate Pickleball Association (NCPA). The NCPA is dedicated to growing collegiate pickleball and organizing events for club-based teams. Although pickleball is not yet an NCAA-sanctioned sport, the NCPA is rapidly expanding, with over 200 universities involved in its events.
By joining the NCPA, CU Pickleball aims to compete at the highest level, representing the University of Colorado in regional and national tournaments. The NCPA provides an incredible platform for student-athletes to showcase their skills and take the sport of pickleball to the next level.
